Terms of Service
Version 1 · effective 27 July 2026
Effective 2026-07-27. This is version 1 — see the version history at the bottom of this page.
1. Who we are, and what PetNanny is
PetNanny ("PetNanny", "we", "us") operates a website and related services (the "Platform") that help pet owners ("Owners") find and arrange care with independent local pet-care providers ("Nannies") in Lithuania — dog walking, overnight sitting, day-care, drop-in visits, grooming, and other service types listed on the Platform from time to time.
PetNanny is a venue. It is not a party to the care arrangement itself. We provide the tools to discover a Nanny or an Owner, message them, agree on dates and price, and generate a record of what was agreed. The actual care agreement, and every obligation under it, is between the Owner and the Nanny directly. PetNanny does not employ any Nanny, does not supervise how care is actually delivered, and is not a signatory to, or guarantor of, any booking.
2. Eligibility and your account
You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract under Lithuanian law to create an account. You're responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and for everything that happens under your account. Tell us promptly if you believe your account has been accessed without your permission.
A single person may hold both an Owner and a Nanny profile on the same account.
3. Payments are never handled by PetNanny
Any price shown on the Platform, in a booking request, or on a care contract is the amount the Owner and Nanny have agreed to pay each other directly. PetNanny does not process, transmit, hold, or have access to any payment. We are not an escrow agent, a payment facilitator, or a guarantor of payment either way. Any dispute about whether, when, or how much was actually paid is between the Owner and the Nanny — PetNanny is not in a position to resolve it and does not arbitrate it.
4. Bookings and the care contract
When a booking is accepted, the Platform generates a downloadable care document (the "Care Contract") summarizing what the Owner and Nanny agreed: dates, service, price, the pet's care details as provided by the Owner, an emergency veterinary spending authorization if the Owner set one, and the standard terms in force at the time the booking was made (see §12 — your Care Contract always cites the terms version that applied then, even if these Terms are updated later).
The Care Contract is a record of what the two of you agreed to, generated for your convenience. PetNanny is not a signatory to it and does not guarantee that either party will honor it.
5. Verification — what "Verified" means, and what it doesn't
A Nanny may complete a profile-plausibility review and, separately, an optional government-ID + selfie identity check. "Identity verified" means an admin confirmed the documents were consistent with the profile at the time of review — it is not a criminal-record check, a background check, a qualification check, or any guarantee of a Nanny's competence, reliability, or the safety of any arrangement. Read our Safety guide for the full, honest scope of what verification does and does not cover before relying on it.
6. Your conduct
You agree not to: use the Platform for anything unlawful; harass, discriminate against, or endanger another user or their pet; post false, misleading, or defamatory content (including a fake review); attempt to circumvent any safety or moderation feature; or scrape, resell, or misuse data from the Platform outside your own use of it. We may investigate suspected violations, including by reviewing reports filed by other users.
7. Reviews
Only an Owner whose booking with a specific Nanny has actually completed may leave a review of that Nanny — the Platform enforces this at the database level, not just as a policy. Reviews must be honest, first-hand accounts of that booking. We may remove a review that violates these Terms (fabricated, off-topic, abusive, or unlawful); a Nanny may post a single public response to a review about them, editable for 48 hours after posting. See How reviews work for the full mechanics.
8. Cancellations and incidents
Either party may cancel a booking; the reason and timing are recorded as part of the booking history. A late cancellation, a no-show, or any other incident during a booking can still have real consequences agreed between the Owner and the Nanny (for example, an agreed cancellation allowance) — that arrangement is between them, and PetNanny does not enforce, collect, or adjudicate it. You can report a serious incident (no-show, a safety concern, harm to a pet, property damage, or misrepresentation) through the Platform for our trust & safety team to review.
9. Suspension and account removal
We may suspend or remove an account that violates these Terms, endangers another user or their pet, or is the subject of credible, serious reports. Suspending an account automatically declines that account's pending booking requests, with a note explaining why. You can permanently delete your own account at any time from Account Settings, subject to first resolving any accepted, still-upcoming booking.
10. Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law:
- PetNanny is not liable for any loss, injury, illness, damage, or expense arising from the performance, non-performance, or manner of performance of any care arrangement between an Owner and a Nanny — including anything that happens to a pet, a person, or property during a booking.
- PetNanny does not guarantee that any Nanny will accept, complete, or arrive on time for a booking, or provide any particular standard of care; nor that any Owner will pay any amount agreed with a Nanny.
- PetNanny is a venue connecting independent users — it is not a party to, and assumes no responsibility for enforcing, any agreement made between an Owner and a Nanny.
- Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited under Lithuanian or EU law — including liability for death or personal injury caused by our own negligence, for our own fraud, or for our own breach of applicable data-protection law.
11. Data protection
Personal data connected with using the Platform is handled as described in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms by reference.
12. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. A material change — one
that meaningfully changes your rights or obligations, such as the liability
framing in §10 or how disputes are handled — will be sent to every affected
user by email, and, once available, also surfaced as an in-app notice; a
material change may require you to re-accept before you can continue using
the Platform. A non-material change (a clarification, a typo fix, a
formatting change) takes effect immediately on publication and does not
require re-acceptance. Every past version stays available at a stable
archive URL (e.g. /terms/v1) so you can always see exactly what you
agreed to and when.
13. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Lithuania, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. This does not remove any protection you're entitled to under the mandatory consumer-protection law of the country where you live, if that's different from Lithuania.
14. Contact
Questions about these Terms can be sent to hello@petnanny.lt.
